The fourth of July will be bringing a new kind of independence our way this year from the far reaches of California to the industrious misery of San Antonio and finally back home to our little oais in the 512, so like Famous Danger Agents would say, the Word Association, yeah we triangulate. This go round Mnolo and Anecha have teamed up to co produce every track on the Word Association's new project(Two Producers One Deejay and Five Emcees later.....) bouncing different sounds and samples back and forth over the internet until the stew is just right. All songs were written and recorded between Janurary and May of 2008 and we have some special spices added throughout by Ty on the guitar and harmonica and Collin on the sax. It will be available to buy on July 5th and we will be giving away 1000 copies during the Warped tour on the 5th and 6th. As usual they will be at Sundance records and wherever you find the Word Association. |

It all starts February 2nd at the Triple Crown in San Marcos with the CD release show for Chief's new project, The Weather Underground. The show is free for anyone 18 and up, so tell your friends and take advantage of this rare gift. You can also catch the Word Association at Red 7 in Austin with Agents of Change(Chicago) and the Heroes(S.M.) on January 10th for a special eary show inside from 8:00 to 11:00. The Austin Chronicle has listed this as a recommended show for their readers, and we urge everyone else breathing to come out and see why. Hip Hop's not dead, just listen. |
